Our website www.codium.sk uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (e.g. pixels, tags, scripts).

This document explains what cookies are, which types we use on our website, for what purposes we process them and how you can change your cookie settings or withdraw your consent at any time.

The use of cookies is governed by:

• Section 109(8) of Slovak Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on Electronic Communications,
• Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR),
• the Guidelines of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB).

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your web browser or end device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit it. They allow the website to remember information about your visit (e.g. your preferred language, login session or shopping cart contents), making your next visit easier and the website more useful.

By storage duration, we distinguish:

• Session cookies: Temporary files that are deleted automatically as soon as you close your web browser.
• Persistent cookies: They remain stored on your device for a predetermined period or until you delete them manually.

By origin, we distinguish:

• First-party cookies: Stored directly by our website.
• Third-party cookies: Stored by external services and partners whose tools we use on the website (e.g. Google, Meta, LinkedIn).

2. Cookie categories and legal bases for their use

In accordance with Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll., we divide cookies into the following categories:

A. Essential (technical and functional) cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function properly and securely. They provide basic functions such as navigation between pages, securing the user session and remembering your preferences in the cookie banner.

• Legal basis: Storing this data does not require consent under Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. The processing of related personal data is based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in ensuring the functionality and security of the website.
• Option to refuse: These cookies cannot be switched off in our cookie banner, because the website would not work properly without them.

B. Statistical and analytics cookies

They help us understand how visitors interact with the website. They collect aggregated and pseudonymised information about the number of visitors, traffic sources, the most visited pages and the time spent on the website.

• Tools used: Google Analytics 4 (provider: Google Ireland Limited).
• Legal basis: YOUR DEMONSTRABLE CONSENT under Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
• Activation: These cookies are activated and stored on your device only after you have given your explicit consent in the cookie banner. Until consent is given, these measurement scripts remain blocked.

C. Marketing and advertising cookies

These cookies are used to track visitors across websites. They are used to display relevant advertising tailored to your interests, to limit how often ads are shown and to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

• Tools used: Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company), Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited) – managed centrally via Google Tag Manager.
• Legal basis: YOUR DEMONSTRABLE CONSENT under Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
• Activation: They are stored only after you have given your explicit consent in the relevant category of the cookie banner.

4. Managing and withdrawing cookie consent

By opening the banner, you can deactivate individual categories (analytics, marketing) at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal.

B. Web browser settings

Most web browsers let you manage, block or delete cookies directly in the browser settings:

• Google Chrome: Settings -> Privacy and security -> Third-party cookies
• Mozilla Firefox: Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data
• Safari (Apple): Settings -> Privacy -> Block all cookies
• Microsoft Edge: Settings -> Cookies and site permissions

Please note: Blocking all cookies in your browser may limit the functionality of some parts of our website.

5. Transfers of cookie data to third countries (USA)

When we use tools from Google, Meta and LinkedIn, identifiers and technical data about your device may be transferred to the USA. These transfers take place on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and in accordance with standard contractual clauses (SCC).

6. Rights of the data subject in relation to cookies

Where information obtained through cookies (e.g. online identifiers, IP addresses, behavioural and device data) constitutes personal data, you as a data subject enjoy the full rights guaranteed by the GDPR and the Act on the Protection of Personal Data:

• Right to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR):
  • For analytics and marketing cookies, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
  • The easiest way to withdraw consent is to open the cookie banner via the link in the footer of our website or to delete the cookies in your web browser.
  • Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
• Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR):
  • Direct marketing and remarketing: You have an unconditional right to object to the processing of your data for marketing and profiling purposes through advertising cookies. Once you object, these cookies and the related data will immediately stop being used for this purpose.
  • Legitimate interest: You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to technical and functional cookies processed on the basis of legitimate interest.
• Right of access to personal data (Art. 15 GDPR):
  • You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether we process your online identifiers and cookie data, and to request access to them, including information on the categories of data, purposes and recipients.
• Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) (Art. 17 GDPR):
  • You have the right to request the erasure of data obtained through cookies if you withdraw your consent, successfully object to the processing, or if the purpose of the processing no longer applies. You can also delete cookies yourself at any time directly in your browser settings.
• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR):
  • You have the right to request a temporary restriction of the processing of cookie data (e.g. while the lawfulness of the processing is being verified or an objection is being resolved).
• Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR):
  • For data processed on the basis of your consent, you have the right to receive this data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
• Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:

Identifying the data subject in cookie-related requests

Most cookie data is processed in pseudonymised form (as a technical identifier of the browser or session), and from this data the controller does not directly know your name, surname or place of residence. In accordance with Art. 11(2) GDPR, when you exercise your rights (e.g. access or erasure), we may therefore ask you to provide additional information (for example, the value of a specific cookie identifier from your browser) so that we can securely identify and match your data.

Deadline for handling requests

We will respond to your request without undue delay and no later than within one month of receiving it, in accordance with Art. 12(3) GDPR. For complex requests, this period may be extended by a further two months, and we will inform you of this in advance.
